FAQ
What should I wear to a yoga class?
We suggest wearing comfortable clothing that will move with you. Be sure to wear something that has some stretch to it and isn't too restricting. A t-shirt or tank top and a pair of workout/sweat pants would work well. No shoes are required. You are welcome to wear socks if your feet get cold.We suggest wearing comfortable clothing that will move with you. Be sure to wear something that has some stretch to it and isn't too restricting. What should I bring to class?
Please bring a yoga mat, small towel and bottle of water. We have plenty of blocs and straps for everyone. You can also bring a friend and begin to earn points for a discount on packages and classes.
What is the best class for someone who has never taken a yoga class before?
Wednesday nights at 5:45 pm we offer Yoga 101, which is a great place for a beginner to start. This class will help you learn the basics, while also building from week to week, giving you a strong base for a deep and rewarding yoga practice.
We also offer a variety of other Hatha based yoga classes. On our class schedule, just look for any class listed as either a L1 or L1/L2 class (Level 1, Level 1/2).
How do I prepare for class?
Please come to class well hydrated and be sure to refrain from eating an hour prior to class. This will help you feel the most comfortable and energetic during your yoga practice.
I just found out I'm pregnant. Can I do yoga?
Yes! Yoga is a great way to keep your body healthy while helping to relieve stress during this time of change. Yoga will help you open your hips in preparation for labor while allowing you to learn to connect with the healing and relaxing power of your breath. Be sure to tell your teacher that you are pregnant. We require that you do wait until you are 12 weeks or longer in your pregnancy. If you join classes before that time, we will require a release from your physician.
I'm not flexible at all, does that mean I can't do yoga?
Of course you can do yoga! Yoga is all about increasing strength and flexibility. With some of our beginner level classes that is something that you will build over time.
